What is Implantation ?

Implantation – Process of fertilized egg attaching to Uterine line and it represent a start of Pregnancy.

Some women can easily detect early pregnancy by noticing implantation spotting or through the implantation cramps, while other women don’t even feel a thing and that’s absolutely normal too.

Implantation occur on which part of uterine wall ?

The embryo (fertilized egg) travels down into fallopian tubes and implants itself into the lining of uterus called as Endometrium lining.

How many days after fertilization does implantation takes place ?

Lets understand this process from the start,

After intercourse , if egg is available , sperm comes in contact with egg and fertilized it to form a zygote ,zygote then divides itself rapidly to form a blastocyst (this is where implantation should occur) ,which later develops into embryo and placenta and it begins a journey of 9 months from there.

Therefore, Process of Implantation takes almost 6 – 12 days after fertilization / conception.

How to recognize Implantation ? What are the Signs / Symptoms of Implantation Bleeding ? Does Implantation bleeding have clots ?

Implantation is the process of attaching an egg into uterine wall, so when egg attaches to uterine wall ,it applies force to burrow itself into endometrium lining (see it like planting a tree into soil),in this process a small amount of blood from nearby blood vessel leaks out which then comes out as BROWN SPOTTING. This is very light bleeding and not at all like period which fills up your pad or tampons.

Implantation bleeding DOES NOT have clots. You may notice it on your panties or when you wipe. Implantation bleeding generally last for about a day or two.

While attaching into uterine lining the process of attachment activates Prostaglandins  Hormone which is responsible for triggering uterine contractions which causes cramps ,this cramps are generally light period like cramps.

During this phase, Cramps and spotting also occur due to Hormonal Imbalances and you can mistaken it for early pregnancy signs or implantation signs.

Keep in mind not everyone notice implantation , studies shows that only 10 to 30 percent of women notices implantation symptoms and a successful implantation can occur without any spotting or cramps.

When to take a home pregnancy test after Implantation Bleeding ?

If you suspect pregnancy and think you think implantation has happened , you should take Pregnancy Test after 6 – 12 days AFTER IMPLANTATION for most accurate result.

Some get BFP – Big Fat Positive right after Implantation. But your body needs enough HCG to be detectable by Home Pregnancy Test. So its wise to wait a little longer.

What things to do During Implantation  ?

• Please avoid consumption of Alcohol if think you might get pregnant.
• Avoid Stressing your body too much, have light exercise or calming yoga to boost good health.
• Talk to your doctors before taking any medications to avoid any damage to the embryo.
• Stay stress free and happy.
